Weird stuff found along the railroad tracks

When you work on the railroad and spend a lot of time on the tracks you find some pretty weird shit. Besides the glass telegraph insulators, I find fossils too, Like this specimen I found a few weeks ago.
More fossils, a whole slew of different creatures and seashells. Anyone who knows what any of these are, please let me know.
A surprisingly intact Coca~Cola can... When was the last time anyone of you have seen a pull-tab can of any sort? Those of you under 30 will probably have never seen one.
And coal. Shitloads of it. You can tell by the scale of the shovel and rake in the bed of my pickup the size of some of these chunks. These I find daily along the tracks. I've been picking one hunk up a day for the past two months just for shits and giggles. I wanted to see how long it would take me to fill the bed up with coal. Besides, I'd need the extra weight in the winter for traction in the snow.
Not that I'll need that now.
Anyone want a truckload of West Virginia bituminous?

AJ: I was thinking the very same thing. I'm thinking of going up to the Monogahelah National Forest this weekend for one last camping trip and burning it all.

I found a bunch of these in the woods one time. (pull tab soda cans) I wish I had kept them, they would have been antiques.

That can is a classic!! Reminds me a little bit of the current V8 Juice cans which have the same opening, but a slick aluminum foil adhesive pull-off rather than the old metal tab. Oh yes, I do remember those cans :-D

Do you know anyone who needs some coal in his/her stocking at Christmas?

A) I am 30 and have only see pop top cans in movies and along railroads and B) WTF are u going to do with all that coal. I would by a potbelly stove and use it during the winter.

That first fossil looks like a chicken head. Maybe it's the fossil of an uneaten McNugget.

I know someone who is so tight that if you shove a chunk of that coal up their ass you'd have a diamond in a week that would rival the Hope.. Try sand and you'd get one hell of a string of pearls..

I do remember the pull tabs. Made a necklace out of them. A helluva long necklace.

Even though it is cold here, we don't need the coal--hubby has a huge-ass coal pile at work that he has to look at daily! (He works at a coal-fired power plant.)

I love fossils--just have never been able to find any! It's just like agates, I don't know what I am looking for.

PUH-LEEZE! Pull tabs on pop cans!? I remember when you needed a can opener! (As I have said before, I AM old.)

Well, at first glance, that first one looks like a fossilized head of Homer Simpson.

I HAS been awhile since I've seen a pull tab. And the rock with fossils in it remind me of childhood trips to a creek nearby our house. We'd find rocks like that too...

Nope...you won't be needing the coal for a Florida winter.

Geez...I finally come home from my 2 month vacation and try to catch up on how your new move went...and now you are moving to Florida! I am SO behind!

I remember an episode on CHIPS, where this guy was laughing at his wife for getting stuck in the washing machine (or dryer, don't remember) and he ended up choking on the pull tab from his drink! I remember those!

I had to get sewn up once because of a horrible pull tab accident. Glad those aren't around any more!
