Ok... I finished the Friday LAT crossword, but a few answers have me a little confused. 18 Down, clue was "Drudge" and I'd thought it was "Plod", but it seems it was "Plan". Also, 22 Across, "Tar Heel State university" should have been "Eton" but "Elon" was what I got, because 11 Down "Having No Effect" was "Null".Maybe I'm wrong...
I've been there before, just ask my ex-wife!

18 down is peon hence drudge, a person that works hard, threw me too, I was thinking drudgery.
ALeazwell: And that makes 20 & 23 across make more sense too... I was thinking drudgery also.
Well, RT, 1 down JADA not JADE, which gives you 28 across ALGAE, which leads Peon. Don't know why, but I was thinking 40 across was SEALS vs. TEALS but then that doesn't work with 24 down SKAT.
Magnum: Yep, figured that one out after I got the Peon correct... The whole "Null" and "Elon" has me still baffled though...
