Ok,

This is getting a little to Goddamn creepy.

I put a webtracker on my blog a few months ago because I was getting an enormous amount of nasty emails from an "anonymous" reader in Maryland.

Anyway, since those emails stopped I haven't really checked the webtracker lately because I don't have a need now. I could care less about my "hitrate", wich is about the only other thing it's good for. But what it does show me, by IP number and ISP, who (no name though), when and where my visitors are coming from.

I just checked it now for the first time in about a week... And there's someone reading my blog, going over it with a fine tooth comb really, from South Florida on the BellSouth Network.

59 times from 3:16 yesterday afternoon to 2:14 this afternoon.

And they're linking to my site through a Yahoo! mail account.

Don't ya think 59 times in a 23-hour period is a tad bit excessive?

I know I only post once a day usually and what I have to say isn't of great importance...

I only know two people in Florida, my nephew and my brother's ex-wife. Both of whom I'm on good terms with, and if was either of them they'd have said hello by now.

Who the FUCK are you?

I just might have to phone the BellSouth Network and ask them about IP# 68.153.109.3

A blog-stalker---eeek!
Gee, I thought I was obsessive with my fave blogs...I check at least twice a day to the same sites. No shame, in my game.
But 59 times...dang--shouldn't they be working?

I agree golightly... There's a few of my favorites I go to 2 maybe three times a day, because they post more frequently that I do. Me on the other had, I post once a day, usually when I get home in the morning. And on my days off later in the day, so anyone who's been reading me for at least a week will pick up my pattern pretty quick.

But whoever this is, checking my stat records, has been doing this for a few MONTHS now... As I'f I'm going to post later in the day or something.

Tom that is freaky....ooooohhhhh I'd be so spooked. Someone is blogstalking you!!!!

Linny,

http://www.statcounter.com/

It's pretty easy to set up, even I could do it and I'm html brain-dead...

Man, that would creep the hell out of me. Hurry, get the Blog Guns out and take cover! LOL!

Aparently I just don't have it, because I have absolutely no blog stalker (that I know of). In fact, when I Googled my own blog (Self-stalking? How bad is that?) it directed me to somebody else's blog.

Mebbie I'm just a bright little gem, unknown, but for a lucky few.

Dunno Kev...

Mebbie it's because you find those Mothra-like evil looking caterpillars...Anyone who would be apt to blogstalk you is afraid you'll send one to them...

It's just so sick... I can't understand it... But I think I know who it might be now...

My stalker hit my blog three times after I posted about her and already once this morning. Woo Hoo!

You know whats really disturbing, all the reverse blog stalking that is going on! All of us, myself included, who feel the need to track down our stalkers, is it bad to stalk the stalker?

Wow. Maybe your stalker has been reading someone else's blog and picked up your name there in comments several times thus coming here to check you out. I tell ya, I know a blogger that does just that type of thing although I am not sure what state she is in. Syd might know. Believe me this chica is nuts.

I like your blog and will be back to read more later. Now, don't think I am stalking cause I have better things to do. But I will come back.

If you take all this blog tracing stuff off you wouldn't know about the stalker and then you wouldn't be so worried. Right? Just a thought.

I also have statcounter, but I don't think it's completely accurate every time concerning location. For example, when my parents visit my blog, it says they're in Humble, TX, when I know they're really in Pecos. Weird.

I think the statcounter is more entertaining when it shows how people found my blog through a google search. It's hilarious.

Gee, Tom, have you checked the ex's whereabouts lately?

blogstalkers, aren't they FUN!

You could put a blogpatrol dealie on your page Tom, that might give you a little more info, I'm not sure. Probably not, since you already have the ip addy. I'm sure there are places online that will sell you the exact info behind the IP.

MsN: Yep... And like you, I'm pretty sure I know who mine is now...

Darcy: It's not so much "reverse-stalking" it finding out who is trying to dirve you nuts. I just about average 100 hits a day, but there's that ONE, that one fuck who's trying to do something or find out something, and it's usually for some nefarious reason...

PJ: I thought that at first, but I'm pretty sure I know who it is now.

Bev: Yeah, mine's the same. It just gives the ISP's local hub, of you look at my numbers, it'll show I'm comming from Charleston, WV, but I'm about 150 miles from there

Becky: I thought that too, might be close though, like in the same shallow gene pool.

Syd: I'm really not sweating it. I've got all the info I need right now.
